Remote & On-site Learning

  • We are continuing with our online and remote learning programs, however we will start cautiously offering on-site options for some students, as per the decisions made by the federal and NRW state governments. Please look at the specific information regarding the continued learning for each school section below.
  • Each school leadership team is in contact with their students and families regarding their specific programs and schedules. We will communicate any changes or updates as soon as we can.
  • We would like you to know that we are constantly evaluating the situation and considering all of our options. Our students’ health, happiness and ability to learn remain our absolute priority.

SPORTS BLOG

Bilingual Primary

  • From Monday, May 11, each grade will have on-site lessons 1-2 days a week from 8:00am-1:00pm.
    • One class teacher will be at school with the children of one year group and the other teaches the children of the other year group online.
    • An overview of all attendance days up to the summer holidays can be found HERE.
  • When not on-site, all students will continue with the remote learning schedule and activities in place since March 18 – we are striving to maintain our regular teaching and learning schedule.
  • Please direct all questions that do not specifically relate to the learning material of individual teachers to the Primary Leadership Team, who can be reached in the following ways:

* Children should bring a face mask and any food or drink that might be needed for the time at school. Parents are not allowed on the school grounds – please drop-off and pick-up children at the main entrance, adhering to social distancing standards.

International Secondary

  • Starting on Monday, May 18, all grades (5-11) will have on-site lessons 1-2 days each week. An overview of all attendance days up to the summer holidays can be found HERE.
  • When not on-site, all students will continue with the remote learning schedule and activities in place since March 18 – we are striving to maintain our regular teaching and learning schedule.
  • We are using ManageBac for the following:
    • Assigning students tasks
    • Students submitting their tasks
    • Giving students feedback

* Students should bring a face mask and any food or drink that might be needed for the time at school. Parents are not allowed on the school grounds – please drop-off and pick-up children at the main entrance, adhering to social distancing standards.

Gymnasium bilingual +

  • As of Monday, May 18, each grade (5-11/Q1) will have on-site lessons 1-2 days each week.
    • Our Abitur students can continue choose to come into school to prepare for their upcoming exams, under the guidance of select Oberstufe teachers
  • When not on-site, all students will continue with the remote learning schedule and activities in place since March 18 – we are striving to maintain our regular teaching and learning schedule.
  • Teachers are assigning and assessing work via Google Drive or Google Classroom. Students may submit their work on the respective platform or via e-mail.
  • Please direct all questions that do not specifically relate to the learning materials of individual teachers to the Gymnasium Leadership Team, who can be reached in the following ways:

* Please keep in mind that we all still need to uphold our data protection policy. Do not take photos or record live meetings of anyone, unless you have received explicit permission from those involved. Thank you for your understanding.

Exams

  • The NRW Ministry of Education has decided to uphold the Abitur exam schedule. From Thursday, 23 April, we will offer our Abitur students the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming exams at school. Alternatively, students can continue studying from home and participating in Abitur preparation classes via remote learning. Exams will be taken at the school, following the strictest hygiene measures. If you have any questions about the exam schedule or your support possibilities, please contact your teachers or the Gymnasium Leadership Team directly.
  • The Cambridge IGCSE (grade 10) and the IB Diploma (grade 12) exams have been cancelled. Students will be assessed via alternative measures. If you have any questions, or should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Parker or Mr. Roberts directly.

Off-Campus Activities

  • Unfortunately, all activities scheduled to take place off-campus through the end of the 2019/20 school year have been cancelled, this includes field trips, swimming lessons and overnight class trips.
