In the final year of the IB Primary Years Programme in grade 5, students carry out an extended, in-depth project known as the PYP exhibition. The PYP exhibition represents a significant event in their life as a PYP student, combining the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the whole community. Students work to conduct an in-depth inquiry into real life issues or problems within the year´s transdisciplinary theme “Sharing the Planet”.
As you know, this year´s exhibition was a very special one. Never before, have we had to organize the exhibition unit entirely from home. Our 5th grade students had to work fairly independently to research their chosen topic, organize a field trip, conduct an interview and think about how to help our planet. And they mastered these tasks with excellence! Our students showed enthusiasm and motivation throughout the six weeks of preparation and we teachers are extremely proud of what they have achieved. On the big exhibition night, we were excited to share many creative presentations, such as a self-made news show or documentary. Not only the different ways of sharing their knowledge but also their choice of topics was very diverse. Our grade 5 students took on a variety of topics, including animal protection, pollution, health care and human rights.
Well done, Grade 5!
