Going to the Cape Coast Slave Castle because we saw how cruel and horrible the conditions were

The happiness andĀ hospitality by everyone we met. It didn’t matter if they were old, young, rich or poor

That Ghana is a very beautiful and colourful country with very humble citizens

Going to the La Future Leaders Community School and teaching the children

How welcoming and happy everyone is and satisfied with their lives

Don’t take anything for granted and happiness comes from your perspectives on life. Focus on what you do have.

In Ghana, everyone has a sense of belonging and each person is seen as a positive contribution to the community.
– What the most meaningful experience was?
It was visiting the Standard for Life School in the slums of Ashaiman. It was started by a wealthy man who sold everything he had and used the money to help children get an education.
– What surprised them?
The big differences between people in terms of wealth. It was very visible as it could be slum on one side of the road and big houses, gated communities on the other side.
– What they learned from the trip?
To appreciate our lives and privileges we have got in Germany
