Your Responsibilities
- Support the emotional and social development and overall well-being of students in the school environment
- Assist children in managing conflicts, social challenges, and relationship situations
- Provide support with concentration difficulties, learning blocks, and frustration tolerance in the classroom
- Promote impulse control, self-regulation, and appropriate behavior in social and academic contexts
- Strengthen relationships between students, the school, and the wider community
- Support teachers in managing challenging behavior and effective classroom management
- Identify support needs at an early stage and initiate appropriate school-based and counselling interventions
- Contribute to a stable, positive, and safe learning environment for all students
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
- Qualification in counselling, coaching, or child and youth services
- Experience working with primary school-aged children (ideally in a school setting)
- Very good English (C1) and German (C1) language skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience when working with children
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- High level of intercultural competence and sensitivity when working with diverse student groups and families
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
- Understanding of reporting procedures and protection processes in cases of child welfare concerns
Working Time / Employment Model
- This is a 55% part-time position based on an annual working time model
- Working hours are aligned with school days and include on-site presence on approximately 180 school days per year, from approx. 07:30 to 13:15
- Time outside the 180 school days (school holidays) is generally non-working time and is accounted for within the annual working time model
- Additional work outside school days is limited and requires prior agreement
- The exact schedule is determined by the school leadership
Role and Key Responsibilities
- Early identification, support, and guidance of students with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges
- Promote the well-being of all students, with a particular focus on those requiring additional support
- Provide initial counselling and ongoing support for children facing emotional distress, conflicts, or social challenges
- Support students with concentration difficulties, learning barriers, and emotional regulation
- Develop and implement individualized support strategies and behavior plans
- Facilitate group sessions to strengthen social skills, conflict resolution, attention, and impulse control
- Advise and support teachers in managing challenging behavior and classroom dynamics
- Work closely with teachers, the Health and Inclusion Team, school leadership, and other professionals
- Collaborate with parents and families, including conducting advisory meetings
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment
- Participate in child protection and safeguarding processes in line with school policies
- Document, monitor, and evaluate support measures in accordance with school support and safeguarding frameworks
